Bandcamp is still criminally overlooked by so many music fans. The revenue share isn’t even close with any other platform. In spite of the uncertainty around all the corporate ownership, I think it’s the best place to find music and directly support artists out there.

One of my favorite aspects of the platform is the ability to follow not just artists/labels, but other fans as well. I can’t tell you how many amazing artists I’ve discovered this way.

One great way I’ve found to do this is find a release you really like (especially if it’s somewhat obscure), then see who else bought it. Pick a few fans at random and check out their collection, and if they seem like they have interesting taste, follow em. Then anytime they buy something new, it’ll pop up in your feed.

Do this enough times, and your music feed in bandcamp becomes a delightfully endless scroll through what a bunch of fellow music heads are into, new stuff coming out, etc. It’s like the opposite of doomscrolling social media ❤️‍🔥

Here’s my profile on there if anyone’s curious:

Hi Travis thanks for the thoughtful reply and the recommendation on following other fans. I do that a bit but I'll make sure to follow more folks, including you. Thanks again for reading and replying.
