I love beats by Jay Alpha - the subtle beauty in his sound, the way he flips samples, and the overall feel of his music. On a Diff [type] Level. is a good starting point if you want to check out his work. Make sure to also check out my interview with him from 2017.

Lately I’ve been digging through Paxico Records live performance archive on YouTube and it’s such a goldmine. Check this criminally underrated live beat set from Pink Siifu from 2016 for an example of some of the goodness on their channel.
Another magical moment is Jay Alpha’s live SP-404 set from Malik Abdul-Rahmaan’s former studio space. This one is also from nearly a decade ago. At 22 minutes, it’s just the right length. Long enough to lose yourself in but succient enough to leave you wanting more. It’s perfect Friday listening and I can’t recommend it enough.
